Why Have an Engagement Photoshoot?

There are a few reasons why an engagement photoshoot is important.

Get to Know Your Wedding Photographer

The beauty of an engagement photoshoot is you have the chance to get to know your photographer, who you have chosen to capture your wedding day photos.

The photographer will know how you interact as a couple and you can practice perfecting some poses and learn to feel comfortable and natural behind the camera.

As a photographer myself, I like to make my couples feel relaxed and comfortable as well as have a fun experience together! It’s important that you get on with your photographer to ensure beautiful photos and a smooth running experience.

Capture the Special Moment Forever

The most obvious reason is you will have images captured forever for you always to look back on, show generations down the line and hang on your walls at home.

You Will Feel More Comfortable on Your Wedding Day

As mentioned previously, you will feel more prepared and comfortable for your wedding day photos and with your photographer.

Even the most natural-looking wedding photos that you have seen on Pinterest are likely highly staged by the photographer.

Posing can feel extremely awkward, but having an engagement photoshoot will allow you to experiment with different ideas before your wedding day and get a better idea of how your wedding photos will look.

Overall, the natural approach is always the best way to capture authentic and genuine emotions. You do your thing, have fun, have a laugh and I’ll capture the moments – you won’t even know I’m there!

Godrevy

Godrevy is a location in west Cornwall that faces the Atlantic Ocean on the eastern side of St. Ives Bay. It is well-liked by both tourists and the surfing community. A lighthouse offshore on Godrevy Island, which Trinity House maintains, is supposed to have served as the model for Virginia Woolf’s novel To the Lighthouse.

Godrevy is located in the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Cornwall, and the South West Coast Path circles the entire promontory. The National Trust owns and runs a café, so it is perfect to stop for a coffee if needed and it has a number of public parking lots.

It truly is a stunning location for an engagement photoshoot in Cornwall!

Kynance Cove

East of Mount’s Bay in Cornwall lies a cove called Kynance Cove. North of Lizard Point on the Lizard Peninsula. In the early Victorian era, the cove gained popularity as a result of the notable visitors it attracted, such as Alfred Tennyson, Queen Victoria, and Prince Albert.

One of the most picturesque areas of coastline in the South West, according to the BBC, is Kynance Cove. On the cliffs above the cove, the South West Coast Path passes by as it traverses southwest England’s coastline from Somerset to Dorset.

Trebah Gardens in Mawnan Smith, close to Falmouth, is the perfect location for an engagement photoshoot. Boasting charming sub-tropical gardens, a private beach, a stunning white Georgian manor home, and the most amazing view, it offers plenty of options.

St. Michael’s Mount

There is nowhere else like this spectacular site, which is steeped in Cornish tradition and history. In the middle of Mount’s Bay, on a hilltop on its own tiny island, stands the majestic Cornish castle known as St. Michael’s Mount.

When the island is totally engulfed by waters from the bay during high tide, a cobbled causeway that connects to this ancient hilltop fortress in Marazion is obscured. Along with the magnificent stonework of the castle, there are sloping stone terraces that are lined with lavender, rosemary, agave, and other vibrant plants.

You may discover everything from sprawling lawns to botanical gardens and a stunning chapel on St. Michael’s lovely grounds. This magnificent English castle location is certain to provide a tonne of romance and limitless wonder.
