A Styled Wedding Shoot at The Polurrian
Updated on 8th March 2022
Say I do by the sea. This is The Polurrian’s catchline and it couldn’t be more true than for this venue. It’s stunning, just jaw-dropping really. Imagine being dropped on the most beautiful bit of Cornish coastline and actually being able to get married here.
Located on the rugged rolling clifftops of the Lizard Peninsula, perched just above a secluded cove near the little village of Mullion. Not only is this hotel a dream venue it is packed full of history and has welcomed a lot of famous faces. So would you like to walk into a world where Guglielmo Marconi, Winston Churchill, and Clark Gable once stood?
If that tickles your fancy read a little deeper. I recently did the photography for a styled shoot at The Polurrian. So let’s set the scene. It was a typical Cornish day – blowing a gale with sideways rain. Definitely selling it for you here, but going there on a gorgeous day and watching the sunset takes your breath away. Now back to the shoot. I was extremely looking forward to the styled shoot – really being able to hone in on my creativity and try a few new/ different types of shots. But the weather had different minds for the outdoor scenes – it just meant I had to get more creative. I feel this worked in my favour as it allowed me to use The Polurrian’s unique features to portray the bride and groom’s story.
Megan is the wedding coordinator at the Polurrian. She was helpful and attentive from the word go, from corresponding and planning to on the daily needs. It was brilliant to see her enthusiasm and artistic style coming across and really bringing the Polurrian to life.
On the day we did it all as if it was a real wedding. From bridal hair makeup (by the wonderful Kim) to tying the knot, to having a little celebration. We all had a brilliant day being able to delve a little deeper into our creativeness and what makes us unique.
